Are you sure they are longbows and not ascalon bows (collector bows) that all got the longbow skin? Because the collector bows have hidden bow types (altough they all look the same), of course, you can always check with for example gw-wiki to see what kind of bows they are offering.

True, the flatbow has a much higher arc on its shots and therefor is the slowest bow arrow to target wise. But it makes up for that by being one of the fastest in shooting arrows and having a longbows range. I chose a stormbow over it in the end. :]
